MARCH 2, 2014 -- From our schedule, you can see Killingly Grange is going full force 24/7 (almost) and that’s good! It means we have come alive and making lots of progress and friends.
The Bluegrass concerts will continue until April. We always do well financially at the concerts though the attendance hasn’t always been as good of late, but everyone is happy and very loyal. Also they enjoy our refreshments.
The Grange is considering starting up the Square Dances again that we have had for over 20 years. Dances were dropped for low attendance as well as our loyal “caller” Bob Livingston from Middletown was getting a little tired after all these 20 years. Relax and enjoy Bob and thank you for all the time you gave us with fun and enjoyment.
Our Master Bernadette and Secretary Steve attended the School of Instruction in Norwich recently and found it very informative. I think all new members should attend such a school of instruction as soon as possible after joining. These instructions will help them understand the “ritual” much better, from state officers, than listening to perhaps, the incorrect performances in their own local Granges.
All of our new members are very much involved in our present projects and meetings for which we are grateful as some of our “older” members are slowing down and need a little support. It would be nice to have other Grangers at our meetings. You know the door is always open. Lots of homemade refreshments.
It was nice to have Hank the Burro with us last month!
