Connecticut State Grange Executive Committee Chairman Phil Prelli presented Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty with the “Summer of 2013 Champion of Seniors Award” on behalf of the Connecticut State Grange October 21 at the new Waterbury Senior Center.

The award, presented by State Granges across the country and the National Grange, recognizes “those members of Congress who exhibited outstanding leadership to protect it (Medicare) and the benefits it provides to millions of seniors and their families,” said Grace Boatright, National Grange Legislative Director at a presentation in Michigan.  Rep. Esty has also been committed to defending Social Security.
