SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 -- Killingly Grange will celebrate their annual Grange Agricultural Fair on Saturday, September 21. The Fair runs from 9:30 am to 3 pm. Enter your prized homegrown veggies, flowers, canned goods, baked items, or hand crafted quilting, sewing, knitted, crochet, and needlework. Special contests feature King Arthur Baking, Ball Canning and the Connecticut Association of Fairs Baking Contest. Entry categories include Adult, Junior and Children’s Competitions with prizes and ribbons in all departments.
Fair entries for all contests will be accepted at the Grange between 12 to 6 on Friday, September 20.
A Handmade Craft Marketplace will feature about 20 Local Crafters selling unique locally produced handmade items. Lunch and Refreshments will be available and Fair Admission is free.
Following the fair from 5:30 to 8 pm, A Healthy Harvest Dinner in support of local agriculture will be held with live entertainment. All produce will be supplied by local farms and a portion of the proceeds will benefit local food pantries. Dinner menu includes Grilled chicken breast, fresh salads, whole grain breads, baked potatoes, squash dishes and baked apple desserts.
Eat in or Take out is available. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
