JULY 1, 2013 -- On May 7 we had a great meeting and gathering to honor Carlton Platt, Jr. for 80 years of service. He has worn many hats on his Grange journey, Special Deputy for National Grange, General Deputy for Conn. State Grange, Pomona and Subordinate Master, degree and installation teams, code reading, etc. Most special was the fact that he was the first lay person to serve as Chaplain of the CT State Grange.
We were pleased to have gold, pink, and green sash wearers in attendance. President Jody, Bob & Marge Sendewicz, Jeff Barnes, Carl & Marge Bernhardt, Don Lanoue and Ruel & Jane Miller were some.
A special cake decorated with the Grange emblem and 80 year candles was enjoyed afterward.
We are happy that Carlton joined North Haven when Totoket closed. We happen to be the closest Grange to North Branford. It will be hard to top that meeting but we can try.
