| MARCH 1, 2013 -- The bitter cold of January and February has been a deterrent to our regular meeting schedule, however we’re back on track with our regular programming and activities.
Please plan to enjoy our Silent Movie Night on March 16th. This is an annual event at our Grange, and one for which we are well known in town and draw standing-room only crowds. We’ll be hosting a double feature with the first short movie rolling at 7:30 PM. Our own member, John Mucci provides the movies, the commentary and the piano accompaniment. Plan to come have a very entertaining evening as we watch the antics of Charlie Chaplin on our big screen.
At our first March meeting we will be tackling the state Craft Projects when we will all get together to assemble the entries and enjoy background music, refreshments and good conversation. If you would like to join us, plan to come enjoy the craft projects with us.
We enjoyed our evening of book reports in February, and learn that many of us are now enjoying a good book on various electronic devices: Androids, Kindles and Nooks in addition to the traditional hardback and paperback books. However you enjoy reading a book, we courage everyone to read everyday for at least 20-30 minutes. It’s good for your brain!
Our annual agricultural fair is being planned for Sunday, August 18th this year.....it will be our 81st. Please circle the date on your calendar so you don’t miss it.
We have been working with the local Police Department since last Summer with a request for a painted crosswalk in front of our Hall to the commercial village across the road. We’ve been informed that it is now official, that the Police Commission agreed with our request. The new crosswalk will have the the lines painted and the pedestrian signs installed this Spring when the weather turns fair. This will be a welcome safety feature for all of our visitors, friends and members to our Hall.
