Taghhannuck Grange to host Dance November 10th

By Barbara Prindle

  OCTOBER 6, 2012 --

Join Taghhannuck Grange #100 for Squares, Contras, Polkas and Waltzes.

Saturday, November 10th from 7pm-10pm the Taghhannuck Grange is holding a dance at their Grange Hall. The Hall is located at 4 Dunbar Road, Sharon, CT. This is between Sharon and Cornwall Bridge off Route #4 behind Ellsworth Hill Farm.

The caller is Dave Akin who has been a caller for 55 years. Square dancing is a "courtesy" recreation rather than one of competition so come and have fun no matter what level of dance you are at. Square Dances are a great place to meet people and make new friends.

The band Country Spice will play the tunes with original member Myrtle Hayden from Sharon. Myrtle who is a Grange member is the fiddler-violinist. Gary Tuthill, also from Sharon, is guitarist and plays Blue Grass. Daphne Naylor from Cornwall is bassist and much in demand in local orchestras. Country Spice is a regular at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival held every year in July.

The suggested donation is $7.00 for Adults and $3 for kids 12 and under. Refreshments will be served at the break.

For directions or information call Barbara Prindle at (860) 364-5373.
