Old Fashioned Ag Fair At Norfield Grange Sunday

  SEPTEMBER 7, 2012 --

The Old Fashioned Agricultural Fair, set for Sunday at Norfield Grange, features everything from food and music to competitions for everything from art and photography to baked goods and eggs.

The fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at the grange on Goodhill Road. Admission is free.

Visitors can purchase produce, baked goods and flowers. Live bands will perform and kids can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting.

World-renowned wood carver Tony Markosky, of Weston, will demonstrate his craft and show works in progress.

A number of new games have been created and will be operated by local Girl Scout troops.

If you’d like to enter a competition, you must submit your entry between 2-5 p.m. Saturday or before 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

You can submit original works of art and photographs, canned goods and fresh produce, flowers, plants and eggs sewing and needlework and homemade spirits.

Judging starts at 9 a.m. Sunday with ribbons awarded to category winners and a grand prize of $200.12, to commemorate the year.
