New London County Pomona August News

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  AUGUST 16, 2012 --

Election of Officers was held on June 7.  Our Master of four years, Dan Mutchler, has decided to take a hiatus from Pomona and pursue a career in long-distance trucking.  We will miss him very much, but wish him well in his new venture.  Our Master-elect is former Steward Scott Bill Hirst.  Ted Powell will take over the duties of Steward.  Jeff Barnes moves to Overseer and Wilma Zemko will be our Flora.  Lecturer Deb Barnes and Chaplain Anne-Marie Knochenhauer have exchanged jobs for this term.  Other officers remain the same.  Installation of Officers will be done be at North Stonington Grange on Sept. 8.  Jack Lawson (former RI State Master) and his team will conduct the installation.

Anne-Marie conducted a lovely Memorial Service remembering Pomona friends who went on to the Great Grange Above this past year.

Hope to see a big crowd at our picnic at Bluff Point.  Please bring everything you need- food, utensils, etc.  Grills and picnic tables are available.  Picnic starts at noon with games and recreation to follow.

It’s August, the summer’s half over,

We hope you’ve enjoyed all the sun.

It’s time for our annual picnic,

So come to Bluff Point and have fun.
