New London County Pomona May News

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  MAY 8, 2012 --

What a great evening at North Stonington on March 10th.  We had a good crowd with 4 entries in the A-Number contest and 2 entries in the Talent; and they were all terrific!  Our judges (2 State Masters and their First ladies) had a difficult time of it.  Because we had 2 members present who had not yet taken their 5th Degree, the Grange had to be lowered to the 4th Degree after opening.  Our Master proved himself equal to the task, with flawless ritual in both Degrees.  The Talent winner was from Lyme Grange with Stonington running a close second.  The A-Number winner was from North Stonington.  Again Stonington was a very close second, and Norwich took third.

Downstairs everyone enjoyed refreshments and good fellowship in the hall decorated for St. Patrick’s Day with fresh daffodils on each side table and a large bouquet of forsythia on the center table.  Spring came really early in North Stonington this year.

Please come to Pachaug for election of officers on June 7th.  We need to support our Pomona.

It’s spring at last!  The daffodils

Are blooming on the hill.

Please come and take the Fifth Degree.

We really hope you will.
