DECEMBER 15, 2011 -- Josephine A. Loftus, 97, widow of Douglas S. Loftus (1988), entered into eternal peace Wednesday Dec. 14, 2011 at the Suffield House.
The daughter of the late Adam and Antonia (Zalinsky) Mitsky, Josephine was born in the Scitico section of Enfield and was a lifetime resident of the community. She was a member of St. Bernard Church and belonged to the Rosary Guild for over 50 years.
She was employed as a homemaker for the Gordon family in Hazardville. She was also a member of the Enfield Grange for over 50 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy O’Konis and her husband Karl of Enfield; two grandchildren, Kenneth O’Konis and his wife Angela and their children, Patrick, Rudy, Natalie, and Kenneth of East Windsor, and Jennifer DiPoppo and her husband Mark and their children, Nicole and Matthew of Windsor Locks; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Crane of Broad Brook. Besides her husband, Josephine was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and William Mitsky, and a sister, Mary Mahelsky.
Josephine’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Suffield House, especially Oma, for their wonderful care. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Sat. Dec. 17, 2011 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield for a procession to St. Bernard Church for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Saturday morning at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels prior to the Mass from 9-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephine’s memory may be made to St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082. |
