JUNE 22, 2011 -- At a recent membership meeting, the North Haven Grange honored Edward and Doris Borrelli for their membership of 70 years each. Edward was originally a member of the Foxon Grange and Doris was a member of the Hamden Grange. He has been serving as the North Haven Grange master for several years and Doris holds the title of "Flora," the one who tends to the flowers.
Vicky Strickland was also honored for her 60 years as a Grange member. Strickland, who came to the North Haven Grange when the Totoket Grange closed its doors, had served in various officer positions with the Totoket Grange over the years. She is well known in the North Branford community for her contributions.
Presenting the awards to the honorees was the former Totoket Grange secretary/treasurer, Carlton Platt, a 78-year Grange member. Coordinating the event was Arline Tolette, a 65-year active member and currently the North Haven Grange secretary. |
