Around The Grange
Central Pomona Wreath Sale Deadline Approaching
  NOVEMBER 27, 2010 --

Deck your halls with a fabulous wreath made of freshly cut and fragrant mixed greens, and help support Connecticut's Central Pomona Grange No. 1 in the process.

Wreaths will be of the Balsam variety, and will be 22 to 24 inches is size.  The price is $22.00 per wreath.  Orders will be taken through December 1st, and will arrive around December 7th.

This is a major fundraiser for Central Pomona, with proceeds from the wreath sale to benefit the Grange's 2011 projects. Checks should be made payable to Secretary Cindy Charbonneau, and mailed to Cindy at 102 Spring Street, Meriden, CT 06451.

A wreath is one of the most recognizable holiday symbols. During the winter, ancient Germanic peoples placed evergreen boughs in a circle to indicate life through the winter. Today the word “wreath” most often invokes thoughts of the holiday season and round boughs of evergreens and symbolizes life and hope for the winter and the holiday season.

Central Pomona Grange No. 1 was organized November 30, 1886.  The Pomona Grange is the equivalent of the county-wide/regional Grange. Central Pomona includes the following Granges in its jurisdiction - Southington Grange No. 25, Meriden Grange No. 29, Westfield Grange No. 50 (Middletown), Higganum Grange No. 124, and Hemlock Grange No. 182 (Portland).

For more information on the Wreath Sale, or regarding Central Pomona Grange, please contact Central Pomona Grange Secretary Cindy Charbonneau or President Robert Charbonneau at (203) 237-4617 or via e-mail at meriden@ctstategrange.org.
