| AUGUST 11, 2010 -- North Stonington Grange will hold a yard sale Saturday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. to raise money for the Chikumbuso Project in Africa.
According to its Web site, the project aims to help Zambian women and children, "through education and microenterprise ... create opportunities and provides hope. Our projects include a training program, a school for orphans and microenterprise development."
The Grange has chosen the Chikumbuso Project as its Community Service Project for the year and is renting tables to the public for $15. Residents can sell their own trash or treasures during the benefit and purchases from the Grange's yard sale table will directly benefit Chikumbuso.
Handmade items by the women of Chikumbuso will also be available for sale as well as food, drink and ice cream.
