Winchester Grange's recent election of officers was held in June with a new slate of officers selected for the new Grange year, and an unexpected format to the evening.

While many officers remained in the same positions they welcome several new changes to the line-up. Immediately after electing Past State Master Bud Beecher to a new term as Treasurer, the lights went out -- naturally begging the question of whether the electric bill had been paid (of course, it was), but a transformer several blocks away from the hall had blown.

The emergency generator system didn't kick on as it should have causing the remainder of the meeting and most of the refreshments to be held in candlelight. A different experience to be sure!
