Redding Grange mourns loss of Secretary

  FEBRUARY 20, 2010 --

Pearl Norback Atkinson Gunther, age 85 of Bethel, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of the late John Atkinson and Robert Gunther. She was born in New Haven, March 21, 1924, daughter of the late George and Mary (Buttery) Norback.

Pearl was a graduate of Norwalk High School, a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and Secretary of Redding Grange.

She was the mother of the late artist, Allen Atkinson. She is survived by her loving son, Ronald Gunther of Bethel. She was also predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Kolos and brother-in-law, John Kolos, previously of Wilton.

The funeral will be held in the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Monday morning at 11, with Rev. Caroline Legg officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut 405 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810 or the Redding Grange c/o Philip E.
