  NOVEMBER 16, 2009 --

Litchfield Grange held it's 120th Anniversary celebration on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Grange Hall on Route 202 in Litchfield.

The well-attended event included recognitions of achievement from the State of Connecticut and the Town of Litchfield which were presented by Litchfield Selectman Jack Healy, and from the Connecticut State Grange which was presented by State General Deputy Robert Buck. State Master Robert Sendewicz was in Grand Rapids, MI attending the National Grange convention, thus unable to attend the festivities.

The event also included the recognition and presentation of 75 Years of Membership certificate to Beulah Noad Partridge.

A program was presented by members of Litchfield Grange accounting the history of the Grange and it's ties to the community, including a poem about the Grange Hall written by Alta Peck that was read by Sara Lee Fischer. An assortment of Grange memorabilia was also on display.

The event concluded as guests enjoyed a wonderful spread of delicious refreshments.

Litchfield Grange was organized on November 13, 1889 with 45 charter members, by Deputy Minor Ives under State Master J.H. Hale. The Grange Hall was dedicated on October 25, 1953, by State Master and Litchfield Grange member Donald Peck.
