| SEPTEMBER 5, 2026 -- Whigville Grange #48 has had a productive summer season with good monthly meeting attendance and an ensemble of volunteers who diligently work to plan and staff our fundraising events. We are fortunate to have a cohesive volunteer group working towards our building goals.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate for our July 18 Whigville Music Festival fundraiser.
All outside activities had to be cancelled due to the weather but the music played on – albeit inside stage only. There was a music genre for everyone. Thank you to everyone who helped with the last-minute changes proving that we are a very flexible group of Grangers.
Our Grange Fair, held on August 22, will be in the rear-view mirror by publication time. We are looking forward to an outstanding day with our friends, relatives, and community members. We hope to report out great success in the next issue.
It is important for us to continue to attract community interest in the agricultural history of our town and to keep the Grange traditions and values alive in this fast-paced society.
To that end, The Whigville Grange will take part in Burlington Tavern Day on September 20, 2026. Tavern Day is a town tradition celebrating Burlington history. We plan to have a booth with Grange information, membership forms, and staff to answer questions that may arise. In addition, we will have delicious baked goods for sale.
The September Whigville Grange #48 meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
