Veteran of the Month Ceremony Riverton Grange will host its 50th
Veteran of the Month Ceremony, in collaboration with Riverton American Legion Post #159, at the Riverton Grange Hall. The public is warmly invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
May 1st Meeting Recap - Members and guests gathered at Riverton Grange Hall and via Zoom for the regular monthly meeting. President Dave Roberts opened the meeting by offering condolences to Lady Assistant Steward Melissa Sweeney on the recent passing of her father. Grange members presented Melissa and her family with a patio pot arrangement.
During the business meeting, co-chairs Dawn Anstett and Raine Pedersen shared an update on the America 250 Community Series, which will run from Memorial Day through late summer. The series will conclude in August with a catered dinner and a “Voices of Riverton
Memories” program. Members expressed strong support, raising
$1,000 to help fund the initiative, and formally approved the budget for the four-part series.
The series will kick off on June 7 at 1:00 PM with “Discover Your Roots,” a genealogy workshop focused on family history and Revolutionary War resources, featuring guest speaker Mel Smith.
Judy Doyle reported on the Kitchen Renovation Project. All necessary permits have been secured, and preparations are underway. Members have cleared the existing kitchen, and demolition is set to begin. During the expected two- to three-month renovation period, membership meetings will be held via Zoom.
Lecturer James Mele introduced the evening’s program, presented by Chaplain Raine Pedersen on beekeeping.
Refreshments were served prior to the meeting by Treasurer Tillie Jackson and were highly praised by attendees.
