Around The Grange
May News from Vernon Grange No. 52

By Irene Percoski

  MAY 1, 2024 --

May 3: Coventry comes with the program. Ref. Claudia & Dawn June 7: Short Program, Election of Officers, Ref. Charlene

July 5: Birds and Bees, Pollinators Please, Ref. Irene

We had a very interesting meeting with Shelly Cameron, Director of the Membership Committee. She posed questions and projects that stirred up a lot of ideas to try. Everyone at the meeting took part in the discussions and new ways of going about our extra activities. We brought our problems to her and she proposed some very good solutions. Our other guest was State Overseer Ted Powell, he was very outspoken about all Granges filing a Community Service Report. Our Little State of Connecticut does well but can do better. So, send in your report, even if it’s only the cover page. Send something.

Upcoming plans are for a June

8 tag sale which we will hold at the Strong farm. Empty your attic and cellar of items to sell. Coventry visits next month (May) and will present the program. This is always a fun meeting as friends come here. There were 7 members present and one on zoom, plus our 2 guests for a total of

10. Light refreshments followed the meeting. Last but not least Nancy presented Cherie her awards from the State lecturer for a job very well done. Congrats Cherie. Next meeting will be in person in the upstairs hall. Plenty of room for visitors. Don’t be shy. Come!
