| MAY 1, 2024 -- A Secretary School of Instruction has been scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2024 beginning at 7:00 P.M. While I had planned on finishing a Secretary Manual before organizing a School, I have decided personal instruction would be much more beneficial in the short-term.
I have received so many questions recently regarding record and minutes keeping, tax filings, non- profit status, dues payments, etc. from new and not-so-new secretaries across the state. If these questions are coming from a couple secretaries, surely more are uncertain about the same topics.
For this school, I plan on keeping the agenda very loose, allowing questions and information on the topics raised by attendees. If you are unable to attend but have questions, please email them to me (secretary@ ctstategrange.org) and I will bring up your question during the School, which will be recorded and posted to our YouTube channel.
Soon you will be receiving a Dues Receipts order form. Please return the completed form to me whether you want the Dues Receipts Cards or not. Along with this form will be the State Directory Officer listing for your Grange. This is always a painful process for me as the form will go out in the spring and many of the forms do not come in until late fall. Please return them to me (completed) right after your election of officers (or sooner if you do not elect this year).
Many Granges have not submitted their Executive Committee reports to me at the State Grange Office.
Please send an additional copy to the State Grange office if you sent a copy to the General Deputy or the State Master. We are often asked by Granges to provide copies later on down the road and cannot provide them when they are not filed in the State Grange Office.
