Around The Grange
August 2021 News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  August 9, 2021 --

We were excited to have had many visitors at our July meeting. State Grange Secretary Todd Gelineau was very helpful in answering many of our questions about the State Grange doings. Luna our membership mascot was happy to meet Hank the burrow our State mascot. Faith Quinlan helped fill in for our absent Chaplain and also had the Program on membership. There were many ideas for bringing in new members and retaining the present members. And also, we had two youth members attend from Winchester Grange which always energizes all our members and get us thinking about how to approach young people to join our Grange.

Taghhannuck voted on two candidates to become members with the obligation in the 4th degree and the hope that we will have a degree day sometime in the near future that they can attend.

In August we will have our regular meeting on Thursday, August 12 at 7:30 (with social hour/ refreshments at 7:00pm). The Program is “Agricultural Fair”.

We will have a special meeting on Thursday, August 26 at 6:00pm for a potluck “Picnic at the Prindle’s”. All are welcome including  non-grangers.  Just bring a side dish as hot dogs and hamburgers are provided. Email me at Taghhannuckgrange@gmail.com  and I will send you the address.
