| SEPTEMBER 23, 2010 -- The annual Durham Fair is slated to begin today, Thursday, Sept. 23, and continue through Sunday, Sept. 26, at the Durham Fair Grounds, 24 Town House Road. The hours are 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday; 9 a m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $10 the first day, and $15 per day on subsequent days. Children age 11 and younger get in for free, and the cost is $13 for seniors. Three-day adult tickets are $32; a four-day ticket is $40. A four-day exhibitor ticket is available for $20. Parking is $5 for one day; $20 for multiple parking times all weekend. Shuttle bus transportation for fair visitors is free.
The fair will feature live entertainment, including animal, truck and tractor pulls, a demolition derby on Thursday at 7 :30 p.m., a performance by REO Speedwagon on Saturday at 7 p.m. and, new this year, a "Boys and Bulls" rodeo on Friday at 5 p.m. and a Kid's Rodeo from 2 to 4 p.m.,
Animals, food, craft and vendor shopping and displays of needlework, flowers, fruit, art, photography, canning, baking, crafts, collections and handspun fiber will be available all weekend. For a complete schedule, directions and further information, go to http://www.durhamfair.com |
